Life is Precious- Throw Back Tuesday

Hello Peeps,

“Life is Precious“. We often hear this sentence and in the last week, since #charliehebdo happened in France, the mass media have served us reminders of this sentence. As you know, on this website, I have chosen since the start to minimize specific engagement on causes. Indeed, primary focus has always been sharing passion and knowledge. I even joined a new platform (Mondoblog) in order to be able to share more of my personal thoughts.  I wish and I hope to  keep the focus still, some saying (I don’t exactly remember the author) strive to say that in times of injustice, making no choice is as lame as being ok with the injustice.

Looking back in my book of poetries from my teenage years, I found this poem written in French, which simply expresses my position as far as the latest world events are concerned. Life is precious, life is sacred. It seems random to say it but for me it conveys so well my paradoxal thoughts. Indeed, on one side I share the pain of the families, friends and relatives of those journalists and other victims so violently assaulted in Paris. On another side, all lives are precious. Therefore, why should one type of live (terrorist attack in France) have more visibility and compassion than other types of lives (people dying in great number of Boko Haram Terrorism in Nigeria or in my home country Cameroon, or of a cruel and lasting war in Democratic Republic of Congo since years). All lives are precious, all lives have values.  People of the world, open your minds to all sufferings. This said, read and share… Great week to all dear Readers!!
